The World Bank Group moved quickly to provide flexible responses to help developing countries strengthen their pandemic response to COVID-19. It has delivered record levels of support to help countries protect the poor and vulnerable, reinforce health systems, maintain the private sector, and bolster economic recovery.
Since the beginning of the crisis, IDA has committed more than $56 billion (April 2020- September 2021) on highly concessional or grant terms.
